Kundapur, May 16: The process of registering names of students for job oriented skill training courses under Kaushalya Karnataka Mission was held at Kundapur Junior College premises, Rotary Laxmi Narasimha Bhavan on May 12.

Kundapur City Project Authority president Vikas Hegde speaking after inaugurating the programme said that the recent SSLC and PUC results have proved once again that the people in the coastal region are intelligent. “However, those who have secured high marks have shown their desire to be doctors or engineers. Their lack of interest towards public service is disappointing. Officials who handle the affairs of the district here come from outside the state. Young boys and girls should appear for IAS and KAS examinations. They should together also have the mentality to be self employed. Kaushalya Karnataka will be more helpful in that direction,” he said.

Sub-divisional officer Shilpa Nag speaking on the occasion, said that the state government has realized the need to provide training conducive to skill. “It has taken steps to provide free training. Youth should utilize Kaushalya Karnataka project. The initial four days will be useful to know about the project. Names can be registered in the days after that. A mobile app has been released for the purpose. The names can be registered using the app,” he said.

Constituency education officer Seetharama Shetty compered the inaugural. Hundreds of boys and girls participated in the programme.
