Mangaluru: Play authored by P Lankesh presented in Konkani at Padua college auditorium

Mangaluru, Jul 11: ‘T Prasannana Grihasthashram’, a play authored by P Lankesh, translated into Konkani as ‘Home Sweet Home’ by Roshu Bajpe, and directed by Clanwin Fernandis Kalaakul, was staged successfully at Padua college auditorium by the artistes of ‘Asthithva’, Mangaluru recently.

The absurd play of 60's, showcased the never changing conflict and ambiguity of life one experiences, even today. This proved that an audience would receive well a Konkani absurd play if performed excellently. The performance was associated with Padua Ranga Adhyayana Kendra and first-of-its-kind performed in the auditorium. It was an intimate theatre performance for a limited audience, who were experts in theatre and literature.

It was graced by the presence of Fr Dr Peter Paul Saldhana, newly appointed bishop of Mangaluru. A review of the performance was arranged at the end. There was also a felicitation held for the students of Dakshina Kannada district who got selected to study theatre at the various centres of the state namely Rangayana and Neenasam.

Xavier D’Souza, principal, Puttur Women's College, wished all success to Asthithva team. Fr Alwyn Serao, principal, Padua College of Commerce and Management compered the programme.
