Mangaluru, Jul 11: Parishioners of Rosario Cathedral from St Paul Ward decided to spend time with patients at government Wenlcok Hospital instead of celebrating the ward feast.

Ward feast is normally celebrated with prayers and get-together which ends with dinner. But the members of St Paul Ward from Rosario Cathedral decided that they should not spend money on dinner, but instead should use the same for poor patients. On Sunday, July 8, they went to Wenlcok Hospital and spent their time with more than 100 patients. They gave them toothpaste, soap and other necessary items.

The team was led by Rector Fr J B Crasta, his assistant Fr Flavian Lobo, Gurkar of the ward Alwyn Tauro, ward representatives and Vice-president Simon CJ.

“More than the gifts to the patients, the smiles we put on their faces is more important. They should not feel that they do not have family members,” said Alwyn Tauro.
