Doha: 6th ICC Rapid Chess Championship held

Doha, Oct 28: 6th ICC Rapid Chess championship was held at ICC with much fanfare and witnessed participation in different categories such students under 9 years, students under 12 years, students under 15 years and adult.

Fierce competition was held amongst participants, in which awards were distributed to winners. The competition was inaugurated by ICC President Milan Arun, in the presence of vice president AP Manikantan, general secretary Juttas Paul, head of sports Jaffar Khan and head of in-house activities Anjan Ganguli. During the conclusion ceremony in the evening, during which awards were distributed, third secretary counsellor from the Indian Embassy Chandrakanta Rathore was the chief guest.

Mementos was presented to Sameer, manager of M/s New Madinat Hypermarket, the sponsor of the event, Jaise Joseph - ICC Chess Master, Deepak Singh and Mannangi for their support towards ICC by Chandrakanta Rathore and ICC president Milan Arun. Prize distribution to all categories were also conducted. Prize and certificates were also given to the winners of painting competition and participants of cultural programmes held on Gandhi Jayanti celebrations 2018 and Indian Independence Day celebrations 2018.

The competition was coordinated by ICC head of Sports and External Affairs advocate Jaffar Khan with the support of Chess Master Jaise Joseph and team. The ceremony was conducted by ICC Joint Secretary Sri Raja Vijayan and ICC president Milan Arun welcomed the audience the event was led by ICC managing committee members A P Manikandan, Juttas Paul, Girish Jain, Anjan Ganguli and Nayna Wagh supported by HP Bhuller Advisory Council Member, ICC. General secretary Juttas Paul proposed the vote of thanks.
