Bantwal: Asking friend not to keep legs on auto-rickshaw guard results in stabbing

Bantwal, Dec 13: A driver celebrating his birthday in his auto-rickshaw asking not to keep his legs on the guard behind has resulted in fights and stabbing.

Mohammed Hamsath, resident of Nandarabettu, auto-rickshaw driver was celebrating his birthday in his auto-rickshaw on December 11. His friends Safan and Fayaz were close by. Another friend Riyan was sitting behind the auto-rickshaw stretching his legs on the guard behind driver’s seat. Mohammed asked Riyan to remove his legs as he earns his living from the auto-rickshaw.

Riyan hurled expletives at him in response. There were heated arguments between them. Riyan who left from there in anger went to his elder brother Irfan and relative Sadik and said that Riyan has slapped him. Irfan for it threw no parking board near M K Towers towards Riyan causing injuries on his head.

Irfan also whiffed a sharp weapon like a knife towards Riyan’s friends Safan and Fayaz who intervened to stop fights. Fayaz sustained injury on left shoulder and Safan was injured on his left thigh. The three of them later fled. Mohammed was admitted to Thumbe hospital for treatment.
