Mangaluru, Dec 13: Accusing MP, Nalin Kumar Kateel of indulging in selfish politics and overlooking development of Dakshina Kannada district, CPM workers staged protest in front of the office of the district deputy commissioner here on Wednesday December 12.

They raised slogans against Nalin's functioning style and accused him of not evincing interest in mitigating problems faced by the people. Addressing the protesters, CPM leader, K R Shriyan, noted that Nalin has been two-time MP of the constituency and has still failed to get the overbridge work at Pumpwell circle completed. Instead of working for the development of the district, he is spending time on issues like Ram Mandir, Hindutwa, Sabarimala and others. He charged the MP of shirking from responsibilities like service road near highways and helping bidi workers from the district. "Nalin has totally failed. He is limited to the communal politics of BJP. People will teach him a lesson?"

Dakshina Kannada district CPM secretary, Vasanth Achary and others were present.
