Udupi: ISPRL crude oil unit in Padoor is neglecting locals – district youth Congress president

Udupi, Jan 9: “The underground crude oil storage facility Padoor started with the cooperation of locals has neglected locals," alleged district youth Congress president Vishwas Amin.

Speaking in a news conference he said that the promises to provide jobs to local people and suitable compensation for displaced people are not fulfilled. “Instead of working for employment, social development, and protection of environment and for education sector, it has provided contracts and tenders to Gujarat and other states. No jobs are reserved for local people,” he alleged.

“Adnoc Company of Abu Dhabi is being warned. If locals are not given jobs, there will be no scope for its expansion to second unit. If Prime Minister Modi comes for the inauguration, he will be shown black flags,” he warned.

Kaup Vidhan Sabha Congress president Melwin D’ Souza, chief secretary Prabhaker Acharya, Udupi Vidhan Sabha youth congress president Prashanth Poojary, district youth congress social media organizer Joel Mathais were present.
