Bengaluru, May 15: A birthday party turned violent and a woman was physically assaulted in the bathroom at a Bengaluru’s uptown restaurant.

Though the two incidents are separate, they took place simultaneously in Shiro restaurant in UB City on May 12 and alcohol is cited to be the main reason.

In the first incident, Archith Narayan lodged a complaint. Narayan said that he and his friends were having dinner adjacent to a table where a group was celebrating their friend’s birthday. When Narayan objected to the noise, the group started arguing and the brawl turned into a physical fight. Archith alleged that the group attacked him and his friends with beer bottles.

Meanwhile, Darshan who was part of the group celebrating the birthday filed a counter complaint. Police arrested 9 people in both the complaints.

In the second incident that happened at the same restaurant at around the same time, Devyani (25) visited the ladies washroom to find a woman lying unconscious on the floor.

When she was checking on the woman, two of the unconscious woman’s friends entered the washroom and misunderstood that Devyani had assaulted their friend.

The two started slapping and punching Devyani after which she lodged a police complaint. The police are yet to arrest the people involved in this incident.
